The Dewberry, a mid-century marvel, sports a rooftop lounge- with stunning sunset views of the city, and a luxe vibe that’s hard to leave. Posting up at the Post House Inn offers an intimate setting in the heart of the Old Village, and soaks you in quintessential Charleston charm. (Their restaurant is an ideal spot for a rev-you-up brunch too!). Want the full immersion program? Check out Airbnb for historic homes and quaint carriage houses on cobblestone streets to truly live like a local.

WHERE TO EAT

Destination: delicious. There’s no shortage of fine fare in Charleston, but these are a few of the stalwarts and standouts.

Seafood is the star of the show at local icons like Leon’s Oyster Shop (with a great patio scene, and fun extras like soft-serve and Rose on tap), 167 raw (always try the specials, and hop to their sister spot, Bar 167 if the line is too long), and Chubby Fish, a petite powerhouse with an ever-changing menu.

If date night’s on deck, there’s nothing better than the cozy, convivial Chez Nous. A daily menu delights with the flavors of France, Italy, and Spain, and you’ll feel absolutely transported. New on the scene, Vern’s, is a darling dinner destination too.

Lunching and brunching is perfected at Basic Kitchen and Park & Grove, two faves who focus on local ingredients, fresh takes, and offer picture-perfect indoor and outdoor settings.

Up for a bonus? Pop by Bin 152 for a sip and snack while you’re here. This cozy little wine bar is in the heart of the French District and offers the perfect respite for a revved up day.

Popping from brunch to lunch to drinks and dinner means sporting versatile, go-anywhere (taste everything) pieces. Pop on an easy, breezy  day-to-night dress or blouse  and swap out your jewelry to dress it up, down, or switch up the vibe for hitting the town.

Folly Beach is another favorite, and a trip to island icons like Mckelvins Surf Shop, Berts Market, and Chico Feo  should definitely make your to-dos.

Stroll down the Charleston Battery, a harborside promenade that gives sweeping waterfront vistas, as well as stunning views of antebellum homes and White Point Garden with its massive oak trees.
